I consider myself very blessed to travel the world on sponsorship. My experiences afford me the ability to meet many people and see many places. Here is my latest review of An Incomparable Experience At The InterContinental Hotel.
It was mid-March when I had the opportunity to visit Cleveland, Ohio to experience the many places to eat, play, and stay.
I’d heard it was an amazing city on the rise to being THE place to enjoy culture, art, and food.
What I didn’t expect was to find that and more in one location.
The InterContinental Hotel Cleveland is hands down, a hotel that has been able to incorporate unmatched luxury, exceptional service, with an attention to detail like none other.
Located and connected to The Cleveland Clinic the hotel is designed with the utmost care and comfort for its guests.
I was met immediately at the front desk and lead to my room. I had been granted Club access and my room was just metres down from the lounge.
My Room
As soon as I walked into my room I felt like I’d arrived home…literally. The suites on the Club floors are designed like apartments.
I was impressed how well the suite was designed. Luxury and home comfort are seamlessly incorporated into the design.
The suite had a beautiful bedroom with full bathroom including a soaking tub…something I love to do to unwind and relax.
There was a powder room off the entrance and then a nice coffee station with a wonderful array of coffees and teas.
There was a table to work or eat, couch to watch the huge smart TV, and every amenity you could think of. However, if for some reason it’s not there then dial a number and ask…the hotel is happy to provide you with anything you can possibly need.
Club Lounge
After settling in, I wandered the short walk down to the clubroom where I found the sweetest woman waiting with a huge smile to welcome me and give me a little tour of her domain.
Along with excellent service the lounge offers complimentary breakfast buffet between 6:30 am – 10:30 am, afternoon tea served between 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm, and evening cocktails and hors d’oevres between 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm.
Everything is prepared with locally sourced markets and farms with the utmost nutrition in mind.
The Hotel
After a wonderful snack of fresh tuna, I headed out to explore the rest of the hotel.
Honestly, you wouldn’t have to leave the hotel property if you didn’t want to. The gym is state of the art and wonderful for any level of fitness.
The hotel also boasts onsite 35,000 square feet of event space with single-floor convenience and State-of-the-art audio-visual and teleconferencing capabilities among a plethora of other facilities and amenities.
Weddings and special occasions are held in impeccable surroundings. International catering and culinary professionals make any event an exceptional experience.
Table 45
This was my favorite experience during my entire stay in Cleveland. The wonderful staff from The InterContinental presented me with a culinary experience like no other I’ve ever had.
My evening started with a drink in the bar. I was treated to a couple of signature drinks and a chat with Jacquelyn Spencer, Marketing & Communications Manager for the hotel.
I immediately got a sense of how passionate she is about her job, the hotel, and the surrounding Cleveland area.
After our drinks, we moved to the Chef’s Table where, had I known what was ahead for me, I wouldn’t have eaten that day!
Jacquelyn excused herself and left me with the smiling chef Zach. Before he said a word I knew I was in for a special evening.
His eyes danced with an excitement only someone in love with their job can. As a result, I became giddy with excitement myself…I knew I was in for a wonderful event.
He asked me if I was allergic to anything and then proceeded to tell me where he had studied, why he had come back to Cleveland after studying under others, and what inspired the dishes that he was going to prepare for me.
Chef Zach served me small plates, bite-sized portions so I would be able to experience more. His exact words were, “I’ll keep cooking until you tap out!”
Before each plate, he explained in detail what the recipe entailed down to the spices and what his desire for the dish to achieve when tasted.
His love for his passion was palpable!
I was nothing short of gob smacked after each new bite. I don’t know how he did it but Chef Zach’s description of each element of the dish tasted exactly as he had described.
Every single bite, all night long was exceptional. Silky, velvety, aromatic, and robust are just a few adjectives that shed some light on my experience.
As any phenomenal chef will instinctively do, Chef Zach ended the meal perfectly. I was blissfully full and unable to eat another bite, at least not something heavy or creamy.
So out he comes with an amazing sorbet drizzled with balsamic vinegar…an ideal ending to an impeccable meal.
Chef Zack… you lassoed the sun, to stretch the days and bring us fun
you harnessed the breeze, to fill sails and shake trees
you took the fire, to create culinary desire
and for that, we say…you’re welco…THANK YOU! 😉
Anyone who has the good fortune (or sense) to visit Table 45 and experience the culinary genius that is created there will experience an encounter you will never forget!
And It Comes To An End
As with any great experience, there was an end to my time with the InterContinental Hotel.
Check out was just as seamless and special as check-in.
Each person I encountered within the hotel was the same. Everyone exuded happiness for their job, for the hotel, and for the guests, they encounter every day.
The reason I return to any hotel is based more on the people I encounter than it does on the rooms and amenities that are offered.
The thing about this hotel is that everything, rooms, culture, design, AND staff is extraordinary.
There aren’t enough good adjectives to describe my experience and therefore I am thrilled to recommend the InterContinental Hotel Cleveland to anyone who wants to feel and be treated like royalty.
This truly was an incomparable experience at the InterContinental Hotel.
