Sheltered by lush mountains and unspoiled beaches lies the Holiday Resort Lombok. Tranquil with breathtaking sunsets and panoramic views of Mangsit bay and Mt. Agung this tropical paradise is a perfect place for rest, relaxation, romance, and family fun.
The resort has an expanse of wide-open spaces that add to the atmosphere and offers guests an immediate feeling of serene leisure. With traditional Indonesian architecture, warm inviting colors, and the sound of lapping waves in the distance even the welcoming lobby immediately puts you in vacation mode.
Warmly welcomed by smiling staff the second I arrived and while the check-in process took place I enjoyed a delicious tropical drink and cool towel. After a brief overview describing the layout of the resort, I was ushered to my room where the surprises continued.
I was escorted into one of their 39 Ocean View Rooms. It not only had a beautiful view of the ocean but also the immense pool and gorgeous, well-maintained grounds. My private balcony afforded me the luxury of enjoying evening drinks while listening to the tropical sounds only a beautiful island like Lombok can offer.
The resort also offers 104 Garden Chalets, 14 Beach Bungalows, 30 2-bedroom Family Apartments, and 1 Beach Garden Suite.
The RINJANI RESTAURANT is where a lavish breakfast buffet is served each morning from 6:30 to 10:30 and where guests can start their day with both local Indonesian delicacies and international dishes.
The Gecko Steak Bar has a unique sports bar atmosphere where visitors can enjoy imported steaks, a game of pool, or an alcoholic beverage while enjoying your favorite sports team on the TV screens strategically placed around the bar.
I had most of my meals at the Ka Restaurant located just off the pool. It has a semi-formal atmosphere with a wide variety of both Indonesian traditional dishes as well as international choices like Pasta Bolognaise and Beef Tacos. I also indulged in a few of their desserts and was not disappointed!
If you’re in the mood for a tropical drink or a snack and too lazy to leave the cool waters of the pool the Gili Pool Bar is a perfect place to swim up and take a break. They offer a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as snacks.
After a day of lounging in the sun or touring the island almost everyone enjoys a Spa. It’s always the highlight of all my vacations. Located close to the crashing water of the beach and surrounded by lush tropical foliage the Devata Spa offers a myriad of luxurious spa treatments to help relax and rejuvenate body, mind, and soul. The staff is happy to help with treatment suggestions and the knowledgeable masseurs will have you lulled into bliss in no time at all.
The resort also boasts Blue Marlin Dive an onsite dive center where guests an book snorkeling and diving trips to some of Asia’s best reefs and swimming spots. Gili Island hopping tours and other watersports activities can be booked through the dive center as well.
What makes or breaks a holiday experience is almost always the service and attention given to guests by staff. Holiday Resort Lombok excels in Indonesian Hospitality. Each member of the staff was a pleasure to talk to and was happy to help me in any way they could. I was impressed at how genuinely happy each staff member was, always welcoming guests with smiles and kind words. I would highly recommend the resort for family vacations, romantic destinations, or a girl’s get-a-way.
