The name elicits expectations of opulence, exceptional service, and quality. It’s what guests visiting the hotel anywhere come to expect. Here is my experience at The Ritz-Carlton Cleveland.

There are numerous hotels to stay in when you’re visiting Cleveland, Ohio so how do you choose?

Yes, everyone has their preferences and price range but really what brings people back, again and again, is how they “feel” when they visit any particular place.

On the day of my visit, I pulled up to the Ritz-Carlton in the heart of Cleveland on a cold and windy day. Of course, I expected to be greeted with kindness and attentiveness but what surprised me was the genuine warmth I was immediately shown.

After providing my name to the lovely gentleman at the door I was presented a key right away and walked to my room. No check-in required!

During the short trip to my room, I was told that I had been given access to the club lounge.

There I could enjoy amenities including a Concierge, complimentary Internet service, and three culinary presentations one for each meal plus a teatime that included treats, wine, beer, and mixed drinks.

My Room

I arrived at my room and was thrilled at its opulence. The deluxe guest room with a city view proved wonderfully comfortable with everything I needed for my stay.

The bathrooms are large and luxurious with marble tiles, beautifully designed vanities, and some, I’m told even come with a soaking tub.

Each room includes a smart TVs, (I was thrilled to be able to access Netflix!), Nespresso machine and 24-hour room service.

The Ritz-Carlton Cleveland recently underwent a massive redesign and they spared no expense on the comfort of their rooms and suites.

From detail designs like inspirations from Cleveland’s steelmaking industry to luxurious linens and bathroom amenities; everything you could want to make a guest’s stay perfect was thought of and made available.

Club Lounge

I was eager to check out the club lounge so, after settling in, I headed out to peruse around and scope out what it offered.

I was gobsmacked when I entered the club. The lavish set up is perfect to relax, work, or enjoy drinks with family, friends, or co-workers.

It is set up with comfortable seating to relax and watch a game on one of their two large-screen TVs, curl up and read a book in a single lounge chair, or sit at a table and get some work done while enjoying a bite to eat.

I also couldn’t believe the array of treats they had in the fully stocked kitchen…including an automatic wine dispenser. I was in heaven! I loved that I could dispense wine by the glass and try different kinds and vintages.

There is a constant display of fresh cookies, homemade goodies from locally sourced businesses and a never-ending supply of drinks including a great coffee machine that made very good cappuccinos.

Turn Bar + Kitchen

I was invited to take a meal at the on-site restaurant Turn Bar + Kitchen. This too has been revamped and what an amazing job they have done.

The chef used inspiration from every corner of Cleveland to come up with the name and concept of the meals served in the restaurant.

In the morning, the menu concentrations healthy dishes from locally sourced markets and farmers.

Lunchtime showcases signature dishes which attracts the locals and visitors alike.

 

Dinner offers a special affair with modern American dishes made with locally made whiskey.

As the evening winds down and people shut down work for the day, Turn Bar blows an actual a steam whistle which signals the start of “off the clock”.

Light snacks and very strong spirits accompany this. (Check out the video of the chef personally creating a specialty drink for me here.

I was lucky enough to speak to the chef personally and I could immediately understand why each meal is so special. His passion for the restaurant and the cuisine he creates is evident in how he speaks about what he does and his love for the restaurant.

What To Get Up To In The Hotel

The hotel is an amazing venue for weddings, special occasions, and company meetings.

The hotel is designed beautifully for any occasion and they also offer an advisor to help you with every detail.

Core Fitness Club is available to help you work off the calories from indulging on all the wonderful food. The onsite gym offers state of the art and boasts a 4500 square foot facility with the latest fitness equipment, personal training, spinning, yoga, and cycling offered in an acoustic movement studio, and fitness on demand with more than 500 24-hour virtual classes including Zumba, yoga and kettlebell workouts.

Located minutes away from most attractions like Playhouse Square, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Cleveland Museum of Natural History, and more, the hotel is perfect for vacations, honeymoons, girl’s weekends, or business meetings.

What I look for most when I’m traveling is a connection with people. I like to stay at a hotel where I feel comfortable, welcomed, and appreciated.

I felt that and more from every single person at The Ritz-Carlton Cleveland. Everyone was happy to take a few minutes to talk, ask where I was from, and showed genuine concern for my well being.

You can tell a lot about a place by the people who work in it daily and how they treat others. It’s evident that the all the staff at The Ritz Carlton love their jobs and therefore treat each guest exceptionally.

I’m thrilled that I was able to experience this hotel and the people who work in it. As I always do when I have a wonderful experience, I feel like I’ve left with new friends and an experience I won’t soon forget.
